Can you still love a dog “hating” anti-morning person???
At some point it would be fitting of me to apologize to all of you who read my blog that I have not posted anything in the past 15 days. I’ve been consumed with my new blog at www.missourihomeschool.wordpress.com and just haven’t migrated my way over here to talk about life in general. I created a homeschool journal (see side bar widgets) and I’m proud to say I’ve actually sold TWO!!! (cheers)
We started school on the 11th. I’m pretty excited about it because I made a schedule that really seems to be working. Friday has always being a very off day for us between schooling and balancing a household so we decided to adapt to a 4 day school week. The amazing results of this have been more peace for all of us and a wonderful daily schedule that is actually working. I’m through pretending that I will be the Proverbs 31 woman who rises while it is still night. Struggling for years with the peer pressure of needing to get up at 6 am in order to be a productive person I’ve decided that I’ll quit torturing myself making a school schedule that I KNOW I will fail to keep. This year quit unashamedly I’ve made morning chores our first priority and school begins at 10! Best part of it all………..ITS WORKING and I’m getting more accomplished than I ever have before. So if you are just one of those chirpy morning persons who wakes up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 5 don’t look down on me and I promise I won’t look down on you when you are past your prime at 10:00 PM and I’m still wired and ready to go. HA HA!
I’m finally getting some tomatoes and have even canned a few. Saturday I “put up” okra, ro tel, and green tomato relish plus made lunch, dinner, breakfast for Saturday AND Sunday. Somehow we managed to keep up with the mess in the kitchen and didn’t have too terrible a burden. (Christian is doing such a good job!)
Shadow attacked a chicken……..so by popular family vote it is time to say good bye Shadow. We all really like our chickens much better than the dog. We just ARE NOT dog people. We’ve tried, honest, we have. I do like dogs – other peoples dogs. (unless they hunt chickens) Okay…….before you all mutiny and turn on me I’m going to wrap this up.
