Well, we haven’t made any further progress with pursuing a non electric life since unhooking the deep freeze. It costs so much to replace everything we already have is one of the first reasons. The second is that being pregnant I just can’t live without my air conditioner. The third being I can fathom giving up the washing machine or the oven OR the computer. One of the problems of going non electric is that it is putting a lot of work on the shoulders of my husband. It seems like every project that I get into ends up that way. *sigh*
That doesn’t mean that we can’t dream about an outdoor stove or a hand pump for our well. So we’re transfering the idea from the non electric dream over to emergency preparedness. (like for this past winters ice storm or future power outages)

OK Jonine… if you want to really pursue the non-electric life you must consider Michigan. We have not touched the 90 degree mark so far this summer. In fact, the 3rd of July the high was in the 60’s. Most nights make it down into the 50’s. Just thought I’d throw that into the mix. Hope ya’ll are doing well.
